Each object has separate grid and board views. The Grid / Board switch controls which views appear in the view tabs. All is the default starting point for the current mode; saved views restore a named combination of filters, sorts, layout settings, and board configuration.
Filter records
- Open Filters.
- Choose a field.
- Choose an operator and value.
- Add more fields to narrow the result set.
- Remove a filter from the filter panel or from the active-filter chips below the toolbar.
Filters are applied to the rows currently loaded in the grid. For large objects, use Load more to bring additional records into scope.
Sort records
Open Sort and choose a field and direction. GridLane supports multiple sort rules; the order of the rules determines which sort is applied first. Clicking a column header also changes the sort.
Search
The search box performs a quick text match across the loaded records. For precise field-level criteria, use Filters. Clear the search and active filters when you want to return to the full view.
Save a view
When the grid looks the way your team needs:
- Choose New view beside the view tabs.
- Give the view a name.
- Choose whether it is shared with the account or private to you.
- Save it.
Grid views restore:
- Active filters and sorts
- Visible fields and column order
- Column widths and freeze count
- Row height
- Section display
Board views restore:
- Active filters and sorts
- Board grouping field and columns
- Column order, widths, hidden and collapsed columns
- Lane field and active lane
- Opportunity pipeline
- Card fields, density, counts, and manual card order
- Grid layout preferences used when switching back to Grid
Existing saved views created before boards were introduced open as grid views.
Manage views
Use the view menu or the Settings panel to:
- Rename a view
- Save the current layout back to a view
- Save the current layout as a new view
- Share or privatize a view
- Set a default view
- Delete a view
An unsaved change to an active view is shown with a dot in the view tab. Save the changes if you want to keep them. Switching between Grid and Board opens the default view for that mode when one exists; otherwise GridLane keeps the current filters and starts an unsaved view in the new mode. Switching modes never converts a saved grid view into a board view, or the reverse.
Shared and private views
Shared views are available to the account. Private views remain associated with your user. Admin users can manage account-wide views from Settings → Views.
